3-1-1 / Report a Concern
This Office of Citizen Services acts in an advocacy capacity to ensure that all complaints are handled in a satisfactory manner. The department is a division of the Supervisor's Office and is responsible for handling constituent concerns.

Abandoned Vehicle Unit
The Abandoned Vehicle Unit is responsible for the removal, redemption and disposal of abandoned vehicles seized by the Town for being in violation of the Town of Babylon Uniform Code of Traffic Ordinances.

Adjudication Bureau
The Bureau has jurisdiction to hear and determine Notices of Violation issued by enforcement personnel employed by the Town of Babylon including zoning inspectors, building inspectors, code enforcement officers, fire marshals, park rangers, bay constables, sanitation inspectors and any other employee of the Town of Babylon authorized to enforce the Town Code.

Animal Shelter
The Animal Shelter, a division of the Department of Environmental Control, provides a variety of pet services including: microchipping, dog licenses, and more for town residents, in addition to providing shelter to animals in need of care until they can be adopted by a loving family.

Assessor's Office
The Department of Assessment is responsible for placing an assessment on each parcel of land in the town for the purpose of equalization of the tax base.

Beacon Family Wellness Center
The Town of Babylon Division of Drug and Alcohol Services' Beacon Family Wellness Center provides comprehensive, affordable, and accessible chemical dependency treatment services to residents.

Beautification
The Town of Babylon Beautification Program was designed to help educate the community about the importance of keeping our township clean and beautiful through awareness.

Building Department
The Building Department, a Division of Planning & Development, issues permits and enforces the zoning and local laws, ordinances, and buildings codes of the town.

Civil Service
The Civil Service Department administers and assures compliance with Civil Service Law and Rules for all Town departments and employees.

Community Development
The Community Development Program (CDP) develops programs to improve community facilities, principally for persons of low and moderate income.

Comptroller's Office
The comptroller is the chief fiscal adviser to the Town Board and assists the town supervisor in the preparation of the budget. This department also acts as an accounting office, it prepares and maintains accounts, records, and documents all receipts, accounts receivable, investments, and borrowing for the town.

Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for the maintenance and engineering functions relating to municipal buildings, facilities, structures, roadways, sumps, trees, and other green vegetation.

Downtown Revitalization
The Office of Downtown Revitalization serves to revitalize aging, under-performing downtowns, and commercial corridors throughout the Town of Babylon to create or recreate vibrant downtowns.

Environmental Control
The Department of Environmental Control (DEC) manages the environmental monitoring programs and provides technical support associated with the operation and permit requirements of the Town’s solid waste management facilities.

Fire Marshal's Office
The Fire Marshal's Office protects life and property from fires, explosion, and man-made and natural hazards through aggressive investigation of fire and explosion incidents, quality fire protection inspection services, enforcement of the State Fire Prevention laws, data collection and analysis, and public safety education

Green Homes
The Long Island Green Homes Program helps Town of Babylon homeowners make energy efficiency improvements at no upfront cost to themselves.

Historic Services
The Office of Historic Services collects, preserves and provides access to information and materials concerning Town of Babylon history for the benefit of the Town of Babylon government, residents and other researchers.

Housing Assistance Agency
The Housing Choice Voucher Program/Section 8 is a federal rental subsidy program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This Program assists low income constituents of the Town of Babylon by paying a portion of their rent--allowing them to afford decent and safe housing.

Human Services
The Department of Human Services administer, manage, coordinate and deliver all of the Town's Human Services programs and has a wide range of services under its jurisdiction.

Parking Permit Office
The Parking Permit Office is responsible for the issuance of parking permits for all Babylon Town-maintained parking spaces at the Copiague and Wyandanch Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) commuter lots.

Parking Violations Bureau
The Parking Violations Bureau is responsible for processing of violations of parking laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Parks & Recreation
The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs is responsible for managing the various programs and recreational activities the town provides. The Town of Babylon has full-time personnel and part-time seasonal personnel that staff its various facilities during the summer months.

Planning & Development
The Department of Planning and Development is committed to managing development through effective planning and zoning practices designed to enhance the quality of life in residential neighborhoods, create vibrant downtowns and business districts, protect the environment and promote an atmosphere in which industry can thrive.

Public Safety
In keeping with the goal of the Town of Babylon to make the Town a safe place to live, work and visit, the Department of Public Safety has as its mission ensuring the safety of the town’s public facilities as well as enhancing the quality of life of Town residents.

Purchasing
The Division of Purchasing is the primary point of interaction with the public within General Services.

Receiver of Taxes Office
The Receiver of Taxes is an elected official who administers and oversees the collection of yearly tax payments. The Receiver of Taxes Office is not a policy making office and does not determine tax rates. The office is responsible for collecting all real property taxes levied by the town, county and school districts.

Services for the Disabled
Services for the Disabled is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents with disabilities and serves as a focal point for information, referral and technical assistance to physically and mentally challenged individuals and senior citizens.

Supervisor's Office
The Supervisor’s Office oversees all of the operations within the Town of Babylon’s 25 departments, employing over 500 full-time, part-time and seasonal staff that provide services to 210,000 residents.

Town Attorney's Office
The Town Attorney's Office is the principal legal advisor to the Town Board and all town departments. This office represents the town in all legal matters affecting the town's interests. The town attorney is also responsible for drafting resolutions, local laws, and ordinances for the Town Board.

Town Clerk's Office
The Town Clerk serves as the Chief Records Keeper and is also the Town’s Registrar of Vital Statistics, assisting constituents with obtaining copies of birth and death certificates; Marriage Officer, assisting couples with obtaining marriage licenses and certificates, and performing weekly wedding ceremonies at Town Hall; Freedom of Information Law Officer, processing and responding to all FOIL requests for access to public information. And as the Town’s Licensing Officer, the Clerk also issues licenses and permits for: outdoor public gatherings, pets, and professional licenses for plumbers, landscapers, peddlers, tow truck companies etc.

Town Council Office
Together with the Supervisor, the Town Council enacts ordinances, adopts a budget, oversees town-wide planning and zoning, establishes recreation areas, and participates in town meetings. The Council Office is a resource to all constituents in need of assistance.

Youth Bureau
The Youth Bureau is responsible for the coordination of contracted youth service agencies in the Town of Babylon. These agencies include the Youth Institute, the program it operates and the various youth centers throughout the Town.
