Apply for a license through the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (NYSOCM).

The restrictions on location of Cannabis Establishments can be found in the Town Code.

a. License holder will submit a notification to municipality detailing the proposed location to the Town Clerks Office for review.

b. If the proposed location meets both Town of Babylon and New York State restrictions on location, licensee holder shall request for NYSOCM to provide proximity protection for the location.

c. Once licensee holder has received a Notification to Municipality response and has obtained proximity protection from NYSOCM, contact the Planning Department at cannabisinfo@townofbabylonny.gov with the following information: 

1. Copy of the notification to municipality and response letter generated by the Town of Babylon Planning Department.
2. Copy of the letter or map showing that the license holder obtained proximity protection with NYSOCM. 
3. Preliminary site plan, floor plan, and narrative of the proposed business.  

d. A preliminary meeting with the Planning Department will outline the necessary steps for the Town of Babylon Permitting process, which may include, but not limited to, Special Use Permit approval from the Zoning Board of Appeals, site plan review from the Planning Board, departmental site plan review approval, or conditional building permit approval. All sites must conform to Town site plan standards and specifications for the proposed use. Conformance with Town Zoning Code location restrictions does not exempt an applicant from the necessity to ensure a proposed site meets said standards and specifications.
