All commercial and multifamily dwelling waste is collected and disposed of by the Town’s contractor, Winter Brothers. The Town’s Office of Commercial Waste oversees this operation and prepares bills while administering the program. 

Though the commercial waste collected is recycled by the contractor, the program does not offer source separated commercial waste. Those wishing to set up a source separation program must arrange to do so with a private company. The company must be a Town (Class 1) licensed waste recycling company.

Non- residential properties located within the Town of Babylon are generally considered to be within the Commercial Waste District with the exception of schools, libraries, post offices and other public entities. These properties usually include a structure. Properties without a structure can also receive service. Properties that are located within the three Villages (Babylon, Amityville and Lindenhurst) are not in the commercial waste district.

To schedule trash service, please contact the Commercial Waste Department at (631) 422-7670. A representative will work with you to help determine your service needs based on your usage parameters. 

These parameters will include waste characteristics, dumpster size, frequency of pickup and other special requirements, if any. Official orders containing all pertinent information can then be faxed by the constituent to (631) 893-1008. If an order is placed by 2:00pm, trash service can usually begin the next business day.
