Recyclables should be placed at the curb in a blue Town of Babylon Recycling pale or in a clear plastic bag the night before your scheduled pickup. If you did this and your items were still not collected, please call Encon at 631-491-3200 for assistance. 

Newspaper / cardboard recyclables should be placed at the curb in a brown paper bag or tied up the night before your scheduled pickup. If you did this and your items were still not collected, please call Encon at 631-491-3200 for assistance.

Please call Encon at (631) 491-3200 if you mistakenly threw out an item. It can only be retrieved if the truck hasn’t been emptied into the pit yet. Once it’s dumped onto the tipping floor – it is too late to retrieve any items. 

• You need to fax over a request to Tom Vetri, Commissioner, Department of Environmental Control at 631-422-7686 stating which Wednesday, what time, and how many boxes need to be burned, so the Commissioner can approve it. Once approved we call you to schedule the burn.
• We charge a $250.00 Administrative fee for anything up to and including 3 tons. 
• Additional files are $100.00/tons.

Encon collects garbage in the Village of Amityville as well as the unincorporated communities of the Town of Babylon. The Villages of Lindenhurst and Babylon have their own sanitation collection departments and schedules. For more information:
