Holiday Assistance Programs
About our Holiday Programs
Councilman DuWayne Gregory, in partnership with the Department of Human Services, is proud to offer a series of Holiday Assistance Programs designed to ensure that every family in our community can enjoy a warm and joyful season. These programs are open to all Town residents who may be facing financial hardship or simply need a little extra help this time of year. Reaching out is welcomed and confidential.
Thanksgiving Food Drive:
Each year, Councilman Gregory partners with the Department of Human Services to coordinate the Town’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, which provides holiday groceries and supermarket gift cards to local families who utilize our food pantry. Through the generosity of Town employees and community members, dozens of families are able to prepare a full and festive holiday meal.
If you or your family would benefit from assistance this Thanksgiving season, we encourage you to contact the Department of Human Services at (631) 464-4340 Our staff is here to help, and all inquiries are confidential.
Holiday Giving Tree:
The Holiday Giving Tree, led by Councilman Gregory and the Department of Human Services, brings joy to children throughout the Town during the Christmas season. Local families in need may register their children to receive holiday gifts. Each child’s tag includes their age and clothing size, and generous donors from Town departments “adopt” these tags to ensure every child feels remembered and celebrated.
If you would like to register your child or family for the Giving Tree, please contact Human Services at (631) 464-4340. All inquires are confidential.
