The proposed East Farmingdale Overlay District is a land use planning initiative designed to establish a coordinated framework for the future redevelopment of key properties within the East Farmingdale corridor along Route 110 and Conklin Street. The purpose of the Overlay District is to guide appropriate growth, support reinvestment in existing commercial areas, encourage the redevelopment of underutilized and long-standing problem sites, and create opportunities for compatible mixed-use and residential development in targeted locations. In connection with this effort, the Town of Babylon is conducting a full environmental review pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) to assess potential impacts, solicit public input, and provide a transparent basis for future decision-making.
